Our clients Jason and Emily are a Gen X couple with young children. They wanted to replace a deck that was too hot in the summer with a functional indoor/outdoor three-season room that their entire family could enjoy. This bright, airy addition is the perfect space for relaxing over morning coffee or in front of the fire on cool fall evenings. While it's designed as a separate space, the room is connected to the main living space with an Anderson Folding Outswing Door. With three panels that open up fully, this fabulous door design provides a seamless indoor/outdoor feel. With its clean lines, walls of glass, and light-flooded space, this modern transitional space with a hint of industrial style is the perfect family gathering spot!

A Fabulous Three-Season Room Complete With an Elegant Fireplace

With the 54” Regency Horizon Gas Fireplace as the central focal point, the elegant fireplace is visible throughout the space and from the dinette of the home. The Anderson 3-panel Folding Outswing patio door connects the indoor area of the house to the porch providing an aesthetically beautiful, functional connection. With the innovative use of rafters and beams surrounding the fireplace, this L-shaped, light-filled space is designed to preserve the natural light coming into the kitchen window as well as add the functionality the homeowners requested. The dining table, fireplace and lounging furniture are perfect for relaxing, reading, and watching the kids play in the yard.

The Beauty is in The Details!

The details are subtle, but when taken together, they create a stylish modern industrial flair. The weathered oak and antique forged iron Murray Feiss 4-light Chandelier adds a refreshing natural element to the space that blends beautifully with the dark CoreTec ProPlus LVP flooring. The Monte Carlo 60” ceiling fan in pewter looks excellent and keeps the room cool in summer. The Regency Horizon 54” fireplace is dressed up with black reflective panels, ceramic driftwood logs, and a variable speed remote. The Anderson 3-Panel Outswing folding patio door keeps the main house warm in winter. It completely opens up to create a seamless passthrough from indoor to outdoor living space.

Creating a New Rear Facade

Jason and Emily wanted to preserve as much of the natural light coming into the kitchen as possible. Their goals were to replace the overheating south facing deck and create a design that incorporated the existing stone patio. To integrate the patio into the design, we worked with them to design an L-shaped room addition. This gave them a couple of design features that helped to meet their needs. First, the kitchen window remains uncovered, maximizing the natural light. Second, the bottom leg of the L provides plenty of space for the family's needs, including a seating area, table area, and a beautiful gas fireplace. The exterior design blends perfectly into the existing home's structure, and the Styleline windows, bronze Regal Rail, and Monarch pure copper rain chain add architectural interest to the exterior facade.

Three Season Room Remodeling Clients in Wisconsin
We struggled to find a contractor that would help us find the right solution and provide real value to justify the investment into the project. Instead we would receive vague generic designs, incomplete proposals, and delayed responses. Then we found Degnan and it truly was a night and day difference. Throughout the process every member of the Degnan team showed attention to detail and a commitment to making this project special, and realize our dreams.
